The Peoria Police Department has reopened traffic on Adams St between Oregon and Griswold.

PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police, fire, and hazmat crews remain on the scene of some sort of chemical leak from a train.
Police aren’t saying much about what happened, except that it occurred in the rail yards in the 4000 block of Southwest Adams near Griswold Street during the noon hour Tuesday.
Rail traffic has been shut down, and businesses near the area were asked to evacuate as a precaution.
The areas of Adams and Griswold, and Adams and Oregon, are closed to vehicle traffic.
Police aren’t saying what the chemical was.
