PEORIA, Ill. — Two males were taken into custody in relation to vehicle thefts from Dunlap Motors on April 18.
Curtis King, 18, was taken into custody on April 22 by Peoria County Detectives according to County Sheriff Brian Asbell.
“He was actually stopped in Knox County where they found a bunch of stolen motor vehicles tags, license plates, which lead us to him by State Police,” Absell said.
King was taken into custody on the offenses of burglary and unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He remains in custody with a bond of $10,000.
“With his arrest he was able to identify some other individuals that were involved with this case,” Asbell said. “As well as this has been a ring that’s been hitting other dealerships in the tri-county area, including East Peoria and Morton.”
Carrington King, 19, was taken into custody on April 24 on the same offenses, and was released from custody on April 26 with a notice to appear.
