CHICAGO — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Sunday announced 2,126 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 59 additional deaths.
It is the third day in a row in Illinois that more than 2,000 new cases were announced.
However, deaths in the state due to COVID-19 have decreased for the third day in a row.
Gov. Pritzker said 13,335 new COVID-19 tests were reported in Illinois in the last 24 hours.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 43,903 cases, including 1,933 deaths, in 96 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker again reminded Illinoisans during his daily address to wash hands regularly as well as continue to follow social distancing guidelines.
