SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois motorists are urged to renew their registration online.
Illinois Secretary of State Spokesperson Dave Druker said since the state’s Driver Services facilities are all currently closed, it’s easy to renew registration and tags from home.
“Secretary White is encouraging people to go to his website, cyberdriveilllinois.com, for people who need the registration sticker, the annual registration of their automobile.”
Druker said all you need is your registration I-D and PIN, which is located on the renewal notice and registration card.
If you are eligible for the Safe Driver Renewal Program, you can do that online as well.
Online renewal has become a popular option for Illinois drivers the past few months.
“We’ve been fortunate in the time since mid March, since the offices have been closed down, we’ve had 400,000 people that have renewed online,” Druker said.
Drivers do need their registration I-D and PIN to complete their renewal. Those can be found on your renewal notice or current registration card.
