PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say they’ve arrested a juvenile who may be responsible for some recent vehicle burglaries in Woodford County.
Police say a Special Response Team went to a home near Easton and Humboldt Monday night for a search warrant, after being contacted by the Woodford County Sheriffs Department.
They say they found evidence and an illegal firearm.
The juvenile, whom police say had outstanding charges from other cases, now faces charges including Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and having no valid Firearm Owners I.D. Card.
The Woodford County case is still under investigation. Officials say a number of vehicles, including a squad car, were broken into late Friday night or early Saturday morning in the Germantown Hills and Bayview Gardens areas.
Surveillance video showed at least three juveniles in the act, and at least two of them were armed.
