WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump and Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Dr. Anthony Fauci both said during the daily briefing Monday that places like New York are seeing flattening of the curve.
Trump began his daily briefing by saying the number of new daily infections remained flat over the weekend.
“Hospitalizations are slowing in hot spots like New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Louisiana,” said Trump. “This is clear evidence that our aggressive strategy to combat the virus is working.”
Trump also added that the United States as a whole is under the worst projections of over 100,000 deaths.
Dr. Fauci also expressed his confidence as the country nears the middle of April.
“There’s still going to be a lot of deaths, but we’re starting to see, in some areas, flattening particularly in a place that was a hot spot like New York,” said Fauci.
