PEORIA, Ill. — Starting Wednesday, April 8, you will have to wear a mask, or alternative protective covering for your face, to ride a CityLink bus until further notice due to the COVID-19 crisis.
“This is to protect the passengers and also our operators, so that we can hopefully help reduce the spread of COVID-19,” said CityLink’s Director of Marketing and Public Information Emily Watson.
Watson said CityLink is also asking passengers to wear masks or other protective coverings while they wait at bus stops or outside the CityLink Transit Center at 407 SW Adams Street.
“We take recommendations from the CDC and local health departments seriously,” said CityLink General Manager Doug Roelfs.
CityLink’s fixed route bus service is currently available on a reduced schedule. Passengers are encouraged to practice social distancing while riding the bus and stay six feet away from other passengers.
“This is just an extra measure that we’re taking to increase the safety of our passengers,” Watson said.
