PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria woman accused of causing a fatal hit and run accident in November is pleading not guilty.
Karrie Brunswig, 43, was arraigned Thursday in Peoria County Circuit Court, on charges including Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Driving on a Suspended License.
Brunswig is believed to have had cocaine in her system when she allegedly struck Troy Erving, 10, November 9th on Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, who was riding his bicycle. He was pronounced dead three days later in a Peoria hospital.
Brunswig is scheduled to go to trial as soon as February 14th. She’ll be back in court February 3rd and remains jailed on one million dollars bond.
