PEORIA, Ill. — A water main break left part of War Memorial Drive near the McClugage Bridge icy and slick Monday night.
The break occurred on Harvard Avenue, sending water down the hill to War Memorial, turning into ice in the frigid weather.
Peoria Public Works salted the road after several minor crashes occurred.
Illinois American Water’s Karen Cotton said repairs to the six-inch water main were completed Monday night, and water service was restored.
17 residents were placed under a boil order that is expected to be lifted by Tuesday evening, Cotton said.
