PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been arrested in connection to an attempted armed robbery of a Peoria Campustown restaurant one week ago.
Peoria Police says 45-year-old Aaron Cook is charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police learned Cook had several outstanding warrants.
The incident occurred at around 11:15 P.M. at the 5 Star Fish and Chicken. Officers learned from a male employee that the suspect, later identified as Cook, entered the business and demanded money from the cash register.
Cook allegedly displayed a knife while making demands, but eventually left the business without taking any property.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Detectives on Friday spotted a vehicle believed to be connected to robbery and developed Cook as the suspect. Cook was then located and taken in for questioning before his arrest.
