PEORIA, Ill. – PNC’s “Worldwide Day of Play” is back for a 13th year at Peoria’s Glen Oak Park this weekend.
Peoria Park District’s Cassie Robbins says special guests at Saturday’s event will include “Daniel Tiger” and “Super Grover” from Sesame Street.
“We’ll have inflatables and face painting. We’ll have some live entertainment. Our Rec n’ Roll staff is coming out…and they’ll also have Imagination Playground with them. We’ve got Barnyard Studies,” Robbins says.
Families can also participate in the Clyde West Fishing Derby at the Glen Oak Park Lagoon.
Robbins says there will be over 35 community vendors with resources for parents and kids, food trucks, emergency vehicles for kids to explore. There will also be reduced admission all day at the Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum.
“Worldwide Day of Play” highlights the vital role that play has in early childhood development, bringing communities together to support creativity, curiosity, and lifelong growth.
Peoria Park District says PNC’s “Worldwide Day of Play” is part of a global movement that aims to help children grow, explore, and thrive through play.
