EAST PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – One man is dead after an early morning fire in East Peoria, according to the Woodford County Coroner’s Office.
Coroner Tim Ruestman said emergency crews were called to a home on Surrey Lane around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. There, first responders found the home completely engulfed in flames.
The man was found after the fire was put out.
Ruestman said the man died at 10:45 a.m.
The fire remains under investigation by the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Fire Marshal, Germantown Hills Fire Department, and the Woodford County Coroner.
