PEORIA, Ill. – A Germantown Hills man was ordered to remain in jail on charges he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor relative over multiple years.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 33-year-old Brandon Kohtz is charged with Criminal Sexual Assault after his arrest on Thursday.
The victim allegedly told investigators last month that the assaults started when she was in seventh grade and living in Peoria.
The victim reportedly had questions about a school sexual education class and went to ask Kohtz, but Kohtz allegedly did demonstrations on her instead of answering the questions.
The assaults allegedly continued until the victim was a high school sophomore.
Prosecutors say a search of the victim’s phone allegedly revealed text messages from Kohtz professing his love for her, bribing her, and telling her to delete messages.
