PEORIA, Ill. – A man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend must remain in the Peoria County Jail.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 41-year-old Israel Ruiz was ordered held at a detention hearing on Friday on charges of Aggravated Stalking and Residential Burglary.
Prosecutors say the victim discovered a hidden video camera inside her home on October 4th, and told police she had ongoing issues with Ruiz and an order of protection against him.
She had told police Ruiz allegedly made threats toward her and her children, deflated her car tires, and ripped a camera off her house.
Ruiz was arrested on Wednesday. He allegedly admitted breaking into the victim’s home three times to police, as well as placing two hidden cameras in her home, and a GPS tracker on her vehicle.
