PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters responded to a residential fire in the area of E. Fairoaks and E. Tripp Avenues Sunday afternoon.
Fire Battalion Chief Josh Martin said crews arrived just after 3:30 p.m., finding smoke coming from the back of the house. Further investigation showed the fire originated in the crawl space, extending up the rear wall of the home.
Multiple crews were called in to assist with the fire. A search of the home confirmed the residents had all gotten out safely prior to their arrival.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was accidental. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
