PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager accused of conspiring to kill a 15-year-old boy in a Peoria home and then hiding the body in a rolled up carpet must remain in jail until trial.
25 News reports a motion was granted Friday to detain 18-year-old Curtis Jones for conspiracy to commit first degree murder in the death of Keyaun Hardimon, but no first degree murder charges have been filed.
Peoria Police were called to a home near Sheridan and McClure Wednesday morning.
Prosecutors say officers found shell casings and bullet strikes on the furniture, with Hardimon found with two gunshot wounds in the carpet and pronounced dead at the scene.
27-year-old Jafari Robinson is facing a concealment charge and cannot be detained for that, but is being held on another case. Police say he was reportedly found hiding in a bathroom in the house with a spent shell casing in his pocket.
