PEORIA, Ill. – The 63rd Peoria Fine Art Fair returns to Riverfront Festival Park this weekend.
The Peoria Fine Art Guild’s new executive director, Megan Scott, says she loves the access to art the fair gives everyone.
“With a hundred-plus artists with varying prices on their artwork, it allows a lot of people to start their own collection,” Scott says.
She tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” many of the artists also donate their work for raffles at the fair that benefit the Art Guild’s community outreach and programming throughout the year.
The artists at Peoria’s Fine Art Fair are juried, meaning they must apply to be considered for the fair. Then, the top 100 artists are asked to display their art on the riverfront.
Director Kim Sanders says the Fine Art Fair really is for the whole family.
“There’s a wonderful Kids Fest there. The kids get in for free and there’s all kinds of projects for them to do. It’s a lot of fun for them…it’s just not their parents walking around looking at a bunch of art,” Sanders says.
The Peoria Fine Art Fair runs this Saturday from 10-5, and Sunday from 10-4. Peoria Art Guild members can get in Saturday at 9 a.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, and free for Art Guild members.
