WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. – A Lawrenceville man has been arrested in Woodford County for allegedly soliciting and trying to meet with a minor.
Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword says 32-year-old Matthew Cornes was arrested in Germantown Hills by the sheriff’s office’s Pro Active unit yesterday at around 8:00 P.M. The Pro Active team focuses on internet crimes against children.
Tipsword says Cornes allegedly sent messages about a couple days prior and attempted to meet up with an alleged teenage girl in Germantown Hills.
Cornes is charged with indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor, and grooming. He was taken to the Woodford County Jail, and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Wednesday.
