Bradley University officially opened its newly renovated Williams Dining Hall on Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Bradley alum and celebrity chef Jeff Mauro.
The updated dining space includes more seating and several new food stations, with options designed for students seeking plant-based or allergen-conscious meals.

Bradley University President James Shadid speaks at ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Williams Dining Hall.
Bradley President James Shadid told attendees the project represents more than a campus upgrade.
“Peoria’s success and Bradley’s successes are deeply connected. When our students thrive, so does this city. And when Peoria flourishes, Bradley is stronger for it,” Shadid said.

Chef Jeff Mauro spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Bradley’s Williams Dining Hall.
Mauro, known nationally as the Food Network’s “Sandwich King,” graduated from Bradley in 2000. He recalled how his time at the university “nurtured my creative spirit,” and said he was glad to see the dining program evolving to match today’s student culture.
The event also featured a signature reveal: Mauro introduced a new sandwich called the “Home of Da Brave,” made with meats from his Mauro Provisions product line.
