PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Public Schools Board of Education selected a Texas-based company Monday night to help find the district’s next superintendent.
From the Heart of Arlington, Texas was selected by a vote of 4-3, with Board President Gregory Wilson and members Lynne Costic, Martha Ross and Larry Ivory voting in favor of the firm’s selection.
From the Heart will be tasked with finding a replacement for Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat, who is retiring from PPS when her contract expires at the end of this school year.
The board tabled the selection of a search firm at their last meeting two weeks ago, after hearing From the Heart had posted the superintendent’s position on its website without their approval.
Other search firms mentioned Monday night included BYP Associates and the board’s last search firm, the Illinois Association of School Boards, which only received two votes.
