PEORIA, Ill. – A man surrendered after a standoff with Peoria Police near N. Woodbine Terrace and W. Forrest Hill Avenue Monday afternoon.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says around 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the area on a report of trouble with a man armed with a knife. They were informed that the man, identified as 25-year-old Jacob Hudson, had barricaded himself inside a home with the knife and lighter fluid.
The man was making suicidal statements. Police negotiators were able to talk the man out of the house after four hours. He was taken to a hospital without incident.
No one was injured. Police have not released any information about criminal charges.
