PEORIA, Ill. – A new endowment has been established at the Peoria Riverfront Museum by a longtime member and supporter.
The museum announced Friday the Mike Rucker Endowment Fund for Science, made possible by a $1 million gift by the son and daughter-in-law of the endowment’s namesake.
Mike Rucker is a 30-year member of the museum and led efforts to bring the Duryea model car to the Riverfront Museum.
The museum’s board of directors has named the gallery hosting the Duryea the Mike Rucker Gallery in his honor.
Rucker has also served on the museum’s science and technology advisory council.
