PEORIA, Ill. – Midwest Food Bank, based in Central Illinois, is providing aid for emergency food and supplies in Central Texas where flash floods have killed more than 100 people.
The food bank, teaming up with the Salvation Army, has already delivered 24 pallets of food and hygiene items to a church in the area. Teams of community members are distributing the aid directly to families.
Midwest Food Bank’s John Cirilli says the next stage will focus on long-term restocking pantries and helping agencies serving families impacted by the flood.
Donations to Midwest Food Bank will help meet the victims’ needs.
