PEORIA, Ill. – Fireworks were determined to be the cause of a fire that engulfed two South Peoria apartments.
Firefighters were called to Braves Court near John Gwynn Jr. Avenue around 11:15 Friday night.
They found two apartments fully involved. A search of the apartments resulted in no occupants found, but firefighters rescued three cats,
A ventilation hole was cut into the roof to release smoke and heat.
No injuries were reported.
