EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in East Peoria has been identified.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 30-year-old Dominque Stringer of Peoria was the driver of the Ford Explorer involved in the crash just after 7:45 A.M. suffering injuries that were inconsistent with life.
Harwood says a semi-truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 74, when two rear tires on the trailer’s rims with the axle broke off. It then struck a concrete barrier and into the eastbound lanes, striking the windshield of Stringer’s vehicle.
The vehicle then traveled off around exit 95 near Camp Street and struck a concrete retaining wall.
Harwood says Stringer died instantly.

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – One person has died after a crash Thursday morning on Interstate 74.
Peoria County Coroner says the victim is a 30-year-old male who passed away in the emergency room at OSF Saint Francis.
No other details on the victim have been released at this time.
Illinois State Police says the crash occurred just after 7:45 A.M. near the Camp Street exit in East Peoria.
State police the crash involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle.

The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. Thursday near the Camp Street exit.
State Police say the crash involved a semi and a passenger vehicle.
One person was taken to a hospital. Their condition was not available.
The Camp Street exit, exit 95, was shut down for a couple of hours for a crash investigation.
