PEORIA, Ill. — Metro Peoria is expected to receive two to three inches of snow with heavier amounts to the south and lighter amounts to the north, reports 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins.
The first wave of snow will arrive late Sunday afternoon into the evening. There will be a break Monday morning before light snow resumes in the afternoon.
Areas to the south of Peoria such as Springfield are expected to receive four to five inches, while only one to two inches are expected north of Peoria.
The National Weather Service says that hazardous travel conditions will exist as the snow accumulates.
