PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called to the 800 block of S. Greenlawn just after 4 a.m. Wednesday for a structure fire.
Crews initially reported smoke coming from a second story window. They found two separate fires on the second floor.
Fire Battalion Chief Scott Strum said the fire was contained to one room, with light smoke and water damage.
One occupant got out of the home before firefighters arrived, a second occupant wasn’t home at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The home was turned back over to the property owner once the fire was out.
