PEORIA, Ill. — A man wanted for a November shooting was tracked down Wednesday by U.S. Marshals and the Peoria Police Department.
Authorities surrounded a home in the 600 block of Spitznagle Ave., and 23-year-old Tyshan Gayton surrendered shortly after 5 P.M. without incident.
Gayton was accused of a Nov. 1 incident on the 2400 block of W. Malone that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
The victim did survive the shooting.
He was arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, no FOID, and aggravated battery.
Authorities originally attempted Nov. 7 to track down Gayton in the 400 block of E. Republic.
Gunfire was exchanged and Gayton was thought to have run into a home on E. Briarwood, but he was not found inside.
Upon his arrest, Gayton was taken into custody on an Illinois Department of Corrections Warrant with no bond.
