PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police has a new second-in-command.
The department Monday said it has promoted Captain Bradley Dixon to Assistant Police Chief.
The department says Dixon will be in charge of day-to-day operations, as well as assisting current Chief Eric Echevarria.
“I am humbled and honored beyond words to be the Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Peoria,” said Dixon, in a news release. ” I look forward to working together with our community and the men and women of the Peoria Police Department to accomplish our common goals, including making Peoria a safe and enjoyable place to live for everyone.”
Dixon has been with the department since 2001, working in patrol, special investigations, and criminal investigations, among other roles.
Dixon replaces Doug Theobald as Assistant Chief, following Theobald’s retirement.
