LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A Peoria man is dead after drowning over the weekend in Missouri.
An incident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates Stephen H. Jones, 51, was pronounced dead by the Camden County, Missouri Medical Examiner after 8pm Sunday.
Officials say Jones jumped off a diving board in a cove at Lake of the Ozarks and did not resurface. Police were called to the scene at approximately 6:15pm.
The report says Jones was not wearing any sort of life jacket or other safety device when the drowning occurred.
