PEORIA, Ill. — After several hours of snow Monday morning, Peoria snowfighters are out in force keeping an eye on the roads and watching for refreezing.
Sie Maroon with Peoria Public Works said they are dealing with drifting snow.
“It is causing some areas out to the north and northwest part of town to be a little more hazardous than other areas,” Maroon said.
Other areas to be more cautious of are roads by open fields, farmland, and wide spread houses.
“We’re getting a lot more drifting out there. And the snow is blowing in those areas a lot more than when you get into town,” Maroon said.
According to Maroon, areas more to the south are damp roads and not refreezing.
Temperatures will get down into the single digits Monday night, with windchills getting down to -2.
