PEORIA, Ill. — The National Weather Service in Lincoln, Illinois has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Peoria area that will remain in effect through 2 p.m. Monday.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins said Peoria and surrounding areas could see 2-3 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts, before lunch time.
“Peoria’s all-time record snow for Veterans Day is 3 inches,” Collins said.
North winds gusting to 30 miles per hour are expected to cause blowing snow.
Collins said falling temperatures Monday afternoon are expected to reach 22 degrees by 5 p.m. Near record low temperatures to near eight degrees and wind chills between zero and 10 below zero are expected Tuesday morning.
