PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded around 8:30 a.m. Monday to a report of an armed robbery at Johnson Mini Mart, located at 907 W. Johnson.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said the victim told police that the robbery suspect entered the store and held a gun to the employee’s head, demanding money.
The victim said he heard a click and believed the suspect pulled the trigger of the gun, trying to kill him.
A struggle took place and the suspect fled the business on foot.
Officers located the suspect 300 block of S. Saratoga where he was arrested.
During transport, the suspect was found unconscious.
Dotson said CPR was administered to the suspect and he was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
His condition was unknown.
The investigation was turned over the Illinois State Police.
