PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police were called just before 4 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of NE Jefferson on reports of a man down in the street.
“Officers arrived, they did locate a male with obvious trauma about his body. He was pronounced deceased on-scene,” said Sgt. Amy Dotson.
This incident was being investigated as a homicide.
Detectives developed information that identified Micha Gordon, 55, as a suspect. He was apprehended at approximately 12:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of E. Behrends, then taken to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.
Gordon was arrested for First Degree Murder.
Gordon was also arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Battery in an unrelated case.
Following his arrest, Gordon was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
