WASHINGTON, Ill. – A Tazewell County woman is dead after a Wednesday morning crash.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said 74-year-old Linda Bedwell was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident involving a car and a semi that happened about 9:15 a.m., just north of the intersection of McClugage Road and Spring Creek Road in Washington.
Bedwell was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, 76-year-old Jerry Bedwell. She was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m. An autopsy will be conducted Thursday.
Jerry Bedwell’s injuries were said to be life-threatening. The driver of the semi, who was also injured in the crash, suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The case remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
