FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central Illinois and west central Illinois,
including the following counties, in central Illinois, Peoria,
Stark and Tazewell. In west central Illinois, Fulton and Knox.
* WHEN...Until 1115 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 811 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Rainfall rates of 2 inches per hour or more have
been observed in some locations.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected,
especially over southeastern portions of the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Peoria, Pekin, Galesburg, Canton, East Peoria, Morton,
Washington, Bartonville, Creve Coeur, West Peoria, Abingdon,
Knoxville, Marquette Heights, Farmington, Tremont, Elmwood,
Bellevue, Mackinaw, Princeville and Delavan.
