PEORIA, Ill. – Two people are in jail, accused of beating an elderly woman and stealing her car Wednesday afternoon.
Peoria Police say it happened around 1:45 p.m. near Adams and Hayward in the North Valley.
An elderly female told police she was assaulted and her car keys taken while she was putting groceries in her car.
She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The car was found just after midnight Thursday morning thanks to a License Plate Reader on South Laramie, and the arrests were made.
Ashlee Dixon, 32, and Luke Riordan, 19, face charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, while Riordan faces additional counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking.
