SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois State Fair starts next week, and you’ll have to take a mask with you.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) Friday announced all fair attendees will be required to wear masks in public indoor places.
In addition, masks will be required for all grandstand concert goers at all performances.
Ticketholders in the grandstand track area, where standing room only is permitted, will have to provide a print or digital copy of a vaccine card, vaccine record, or negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the concert.
IDPH said they will have six vaccination sites located throughout the fairgrounds.
“The safety of our attendees has and will always be our first priority at the Illinois State Fair,” said Jerry Costello II, IDOA Director. “We will continue to offer a world-class entertainment and agricultural showcase while prioritizing the health and safety of attendees.”
The Illinois State Fair is Aug. 12-22 in Springfield.
