PEORIA, Ill. – One person was injured after a shooting in South Peoria Monday afternoon.
A police spokesperson says officers went to West Garden Street near Griswold just after 4:00 p.m., on a ShotSpotter alert of thirteen rounds fired.
A man was taken to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound in serious condition, but no details were released on where he was shot.
Police also didn’t say whether they have anyone in custody, but do say an investigation continues.

PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are confirming a shooting took place Monday afternoon in South Peoria.
Police say the shooting reported prior to 4:15 p.m. Monday on West Garden Street, near Griswold.
It’s believed at least one male was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the back or stomach.
A police spokesperson said she could provide no further details.
There may be one person in custody already in connection with the shooting, but that’s unconfirmed.
