PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man allegedly hit with a brick by a 14-year-old boy has died.
That’s according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. He says Tony Collier, 50, died early Monday at a hospital, and an autopsy shows Collier died of severe blunt force head trauma.
The assault — which Harwood says was a homicide — was first reported last Wednesday evening near Garden and Ligonier.
Police say the juvenile and Collier got into an argument, and that’s when the brick was thrown.
The juvenile was jailed at the time on a charge of Aggravated Battery.
It’s not yet clear if charges will be upgraded.
The death is Peoria’s 7th homicide of the year.
