Peoria Police responded to a Shotspotter alert from the 2700 block of Trewyn around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound in the 2900 block of Krause a short time later.
Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, with Peoria Police, said the man was alert and talking when he was taken by ambulance to a hospital for his injuries.
Police do not have any suspects at this time. The incident is under investigation.
