UPDATE – PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified a man found dead in a South Peoria yard.
Darius Dawson, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene outside a residence in the 2700 block of West Latrobe at 10:20 a.m. Saturday.
An autopsy revealed Dawson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and endured rapid and severe internal bleeding. Harwood said Dawson likely died moments after the incident.
No further information is being released as an investigation continues.

PEORIA, Ill. – A man was found dead in a yard in South Peoria and his death is being investigated as a homicide.
Peoria police Lt. John Briggs said around 9:14 a.m. Saturday officers responded to a report of a person down and found the adult male in the yard of a house in the 2700 block of West Latrobe. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information was released.
