PEORIA, Ill. — On Thursday, CityLink celebrates its 14th Annual Passenger Appreciation Day in honor of Jerome Lilly, by providing free rides to passengers all day on CityLink fixed route buses, CityLift paratransit vehicles and CountyLink rural transportation vehicles.
This is the second year CityLink has provided CityLift and CountyLink passengers with free rides.
Lilly, a beloved General Manager of CityLink, passed away unexpectedly in 2007. Passenger Appreciation Day is observed on April 20 in honor of Lilly’s birthday.
Peoria’s downtown CityLink Transit Center was dedicated to Jerome Lilly on April 19, 2009.
Free giveaways return this year for passengers who stop by the Transit Center lobby between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on April 20.
Passengers on CityLift and CountyLink will be given a giveaway item when they ride those services on Thursday, while while supplies last.
“We are pleased to continue our tradition of Jerome Lilly Passenger Appreciation Day on April 20. We want to take this opportunity to thank our passengers for their dedicated support of the public transit services we provide,” CityLink General Manager Doug Roelfs says.
