LINCOLN, Ill. – A Saturday night round of severe weather didn’t pack much of a punch across some parts of the Peoria area, but it did in others.
According to storm damage reports from the National Weather Service, the worst reports Peoria saw were gusty winds.
Princeville clocked in with a wind gust nearly 60 miles per hour, while Peoria Heights saw a 55 mile per hour gust.
But, it got worse than that in some areas. Fairview in Fulton County, which was just hit with a tornado almost two weeks ago, saw gusts as high as 70 to 80 miles per hour, with Hanna City clocking a gust at 63.
Parts of the area also saw hail damage.
Tornadoes were reported close to the Saint Louis area.
