PEORIA, Ill. — According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Peoria County is now at substantial transmission risk level for COVID-19.
This is significant due to CDC guidelines released Tuesday, recommending everyone wear masks in those areas where there is substantial or high transmission risk.
Tazewell County is also considered to be at substantial transmission risk.
Woodford County is still considered to be at moderate risk.
Areas of substantial transmission are considered by CDC to be those with 50 to 99 cases per 100,000 people over a 7-day period.
Areas of high transmission are considered to be those with more than 100 cases per 100,000 people over a 7-day period.
