PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria man has been sentenced to 5 1/2-years in federal prison for stealing nearly 100 guns, including one that that was used in a mass shooting last summer.
The guns were stolen from a pair of gun stores in Galesburg and Monmouth two years ago.
Keith Winters, 31, last week pleaded guilty to conspiring and stealing guns from firearms license holders, possessing stolen firearms, and illegal gun possession as a felon.

Two co-defendants were previously sentenced.
Peoria Police said shell casings from one of the stolen guns matched those from a weapon fired in an incident that wounded 13 people on Peoria’s Riverfront on July 19, 2020.
