PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called to the 4600 block of S.W. Jefferson around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a five car accident.
Enroute, dispatch told Peoria Fire that there was a possible entrapment.
Upon arrival, crews found a small SUV with heavy damage and intrusion to the driver’s side compartment of the vehicle.
Peoria Police said the vehicle was hit by a dump truck.
Crews used the “Jaws of Life” to get to the driver of the SUV, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
PPD is still investigating the cause of the accident.
