PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded to a pair of carjackings on Tuesday.
The first incident was in the 900 block of W. MacQueen just before 12:30 p.m. The victim told police that she was approached by three males, one of whom was armed with a gun.
Just after 4:30 p.m., officers were called to the 300 block of Kickapoo Terrace regarding a similar incident. The victim said two armed males approached the vehicle, but were unable to get inside.
Around 5 p.m., PPD was called to the 400 block of E. Thrush regarding a group of males, one of whom was armed. There, officers observed the hijacked vehicle.
When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled, eventually crashing into another vehicle and rolling over on War Memorial Drive, near Knoxville.
No serious injuries were reported.
The suspects, who were all juveniles, were taken into custody at the scene.
Police are still investigating. The juveniles names will not be released.
