SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The next drawing for the state’s COVID-19 vaccine lottery will be held Monday.
Three prizes of $100,000 will be awarded from a statewide pool of adults. Drawings will take place each Monday through August 16.
“You’re eligible for (the drawing) if you’ve been vaccinated already or, if you get vaccinated now, you’ll be eligible for it on the next drawing,” said Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
The state will check the vaccine rolls a week prior to see who is eligible. A $1 million grand prize drawing will be held August 26.
“If you are not vaccinated please go get vaccinated,” Pritzker said. “I guess I should say there are at least a million reasons to get vaccinated now.”
More than 72 percent of Illinois adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 57 percent are now fully vaccinated.
