PEKIN, Ill. — Another local COVID-19 testing site will close soon.
COVID-19 testing at 1800 Broadway in Pekin will end on July 1. Peoria County’s testing site at the Peoria Civic Center closed permanently on Wednesday.
According to the Tazewell County Health Department, testing will continue throughout the community, at locations including hospitals, Heartland Health Services, pharmacies and physicians offices.
Beginning July 14, TCHD’s COVID vaccine walk-in clinic will operate in Tremont at 21306 IL Route 9. All vaccines will be offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Wednesday.
The Pfizer vaccine, which is a two-dose vaccine, is available to anyone 12 years old and older. The Moderna shot, a two-dose vaccine, is available for anyone 18 and older.
The one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available to anyone 18 and older.
No appointments are necessary.
TCHD’s COVID vaccine clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 8.
